Nino blinked staring into the silvery eyes of the lord, it took the snuffly cries of Raiden to stop the game of chicken, Nino gave a shaky laugh looking down at his son "Is this your attempt at flirting old man?" He asked rocking Raiden gently, the lord gave a musical laugh of his own
"Not this time, Nino-kun,  though would you be open to flirting?" the lord said almost echoing the words Matsu had said to him once.
"I'm completely bonded to my husband" Nino snapped his eyes flashing dangerously, and the lord gave another laugh holding up his hand to stop his guards that had given hisses and started advancing forwards
"I'm not saying that you wouldn't put up a fight but do you really want to try your hand against a wife?" the lord asked them calmly, the guards mumbled something about Nino just being 'A made vampire' and before Nino could blink the lord had him tightly around his throat his eyes a deep blood red, Nino felt a shiver run down his spine he had heard of the power of the lord but he had never witnessed it before, seeing his eyes without the kindly silvery glow was almost terrifying  "Just a made vampire? He is one of the wives, in fact he is the wife of Matsumoto, already that makes him more important to me than either of you, and added to it he is the.." the lord stopped himself blinking the red hue away he dropped the guard to the floor, "Nino-kun, I sense that I've scared you and I'm sorry, but please know that I would never harm you or your family, but please allow me some time to be around you... And Raiden?"
"Jun, he wouldn't like it, he would get very jealous..." Nino said hugging Raiden tightly, trying to forget the image of the red eyes and see the lord as he had known him for the last two years, "But I like it when he gets jealous" the lord gave a another laugh obviously relieved that he had agreed,
"Thank-you, then I shall make arrangements and I shall see you both soon" he said giving a small bow and walking off, followed slowly by his guard, Nino wondered why he had agreed, it was true that he did like it when Matsu showed his jealous side, but it wouldn't just be his husband that would be getting jealous, the other wives were already asking questions about his relationship with the lord, this would just add fuel to an already furious fire. Nino sighed kissing Raiden's forehead
"Come on Rai-Rai, let’s go and see daddy" he said putting the baby back in the pushchair, “Rai-Rai… Am I weird?” Nino asked as he continued his way through the park ignoring the looks he was getting from the human couples that were having a moonlit stroll “Daddy thinks I am…” Raiden gave a gurgle in replay and Nino sighed happy when he saw the council building in sight.

“Nino-sama and Raiden!” Aiba shouted running towards him and almost knocking him off his feet in a hug before peering into the pushchair “Hello… Raiden, it seems a long time since Uncle Masaki’s seen you, aren’t you getting a big boy, ne, can I hold him?”

“Can we get inside first?” Nino asked aware that they were being watched by a lot of vampires and some humans, “Have you seen Jun?”

“No they’re still inside, the lord only showed up a few minutes ago to handle something according to Sho-chan…” Aiba answered and Nino nodded “You knew?”

“He was in the park with me” Nino said with a shrug wondering if that sounded as bad as he thought it did, apparently it did because his friend chewed his lip looking at him nervously

“Nino-sama, it’s not my place to say anything and you can tell me to shut up…”

“Shut-up” Nino mumbled as they made their way into the council building

“Just hear me out, there’s a lot of talk about you, Raiden and the lord I mean ever since you’ve got Raiden the lord has been even nicer to you not that he wasn’t nice before… None of the other vampires speak to the lord that much, but he make’s house calls to you…” Aiba said “But it’s more than that, the lord… He’s been acting strangely… Nobody’s ever seen him like this… Sato, he’s worried too… If something is affecting the lord it affects us too…”

“And you think this has something to do with me and Raiden?” Nino said, remembering what the lord had told him in the park, he didn’t believe there was anything special about him or his blood, Matsu just preferred it because he loved him he knew that Matsu thought it was getting sweeter but that was just had to be his imagination, as for Raiden, he like to drink from Matsu just as much he told himself, but knowing deep in his heart that maybe there was something odd about him.

“I don’t!” Aiba denied quickly, but there was something in his eyes “I’ve known you for almost all your years as a vampire, but… Nino-sama, when I first met you… You were wild, you were feeding on animals to survive it would almost have been kinder to kill you, but there was… Something about you, it wasn’t as strong as the urge to serve the lord or the elders but I knew I had to help you… Recently it’s been getting stronger… And I’m not the only one that has noticed, Sato; he didn’t say anything to Matsumoto-sama before but he’s noticed it too…”
“You’ve never said anything like this before…”

“No, because I knew you disliked the elders and pure bloods, but also because when you started feeding on proper blood it settled down and I just thought it was because you needed help but since you’ve gotten Raiden… It’s there again but stronger” Aiba whispered although they were alone in a side room, Nino chewed his lip thankful when Raiden gave a cry and he had an excuse to pick him up and cuddle him.

“Are you hungry Rai-Rai?” He asked biting his wrist and holding it to the baby’s mouth, Raiden latched on, making happy suckling noises as he drank the blood. “Why didn’t Oh-chan, tell Jun that he thought that something was weird?”

“Because… You and Sato have become friends recently, and even I would be jealous by it, but I know you, you are completely in love with Matsumoto-sama plus you wouldn’t hurt me like that”

“You seem very confident of that” Nino grinned, but his friend was right even if he had never met Matsu he would never hurt his friend by trying to take one of his lovers, not that Ohno would agree in the first place. The doctor was completely in love with his friend and he had noticed a marked warmness in the air around him and Sakurai. He knew his friend was living with both of them he wondered if they all piled up onto one bed and just went for it now. He was tempted to ask to change the mood but even his good natured friend wouldn’t be happy about that he thought glumly.

“I told you, I know you” Aiba grinned “But Sato, thought if he told him that suddenly a few people were having… Odd thoughts about you, Matsumoto-sama wouldn’t like it… And might even take it out on him”

“Jun wouldn’t do that” Nino said though he only half believed it, the way Matsu was acting recently he wouldn’t put it past him in a moment of anger, he remembered back to the lord and flash of his red eyes was there really something about his blood that was making them go crazy? He wondered, he also remembered the lords speech to the guard ‘he is the wife of Matsumoto, already that makes him more important to me than either of you, and added to it he is the..’ what was he going to finish that with? Raiden finished eating and Nino held him to his chest burping him gently. “Aiba… Would Oh-chan run tests on me, to find out what it is about my blood?”

“I don’t think it’s your blood, I think it’s you and Raiden… But we can go and see him… But first can I hold Raiden?” Aiba asked reaching out for the baby Nino agreed with a laugh and handed his son over carefully making their way to the council room, Aiba cooing at Raiden the whole time while the baby was sniffing the air making sure Nino was still close. Nino sighed ‘honestly’ he thought to himself ‘why did my life have to become so complicated?’
