“Jun Matsumoto…” Jun said surprised to realise that he hadn’t given his name earlier, but then there hadn’t been much room for conversation.

“Junny…” Nino grinned happily his brown eyes shining, and Jun blushed before giving a glare

“Jun” He corrected, there was no way he was going to be called ‘Junny’ not even by his life mate. Nino gave a small pout that cleared up as soon as the milk with marshmallows arrived and was placed down in front of him “So who are you?”

“Nino Aiba” Nino said poking at the marshmallow in his cup. ‘Aiba? Where have I heard Aiba before?’ Jun wondered as he watched Nino lap at the milk a sticky white moustache sticking to his top lip. It was then that he remembered Masaki Aiba, the name of his bosses life mate.

“As in Masaki Aiba?” Jun asked just to make certain, if that was the case then maybe the whole fated pairing thing wasn’t wrong, if he had gone to the party would obviously met Nino there

“Yeah! You know him? He’s my big brother!” Nino said excitedly his ears twitching as he looked up at him his pink tongue darting over his lip “He just had a party to celebrate him and his fated mate!”

“I see…” Jun mumbled, the fates really were confusing and it seemed like they had sense of humour. He reached over to wipe a bit of milk that the smaller had missed from his lip with his thumb and without realising it he licked it from his thumb and Nino blushed a little but his eyes were shining with happiness. “So are you in school?”

“Ny-an, I never went to school” Nino answered in a small mumble, “Nino was taught at home”

“I see… Were you sick?” Jun frowned a little, he wanted to find out more about Nino but nothing he was saying was making sense. Why would someone be home schooled?

“Nope… Nino wasn’t allowed out very often! But Nii-chan said I was allowed to go to his wedding and party… Nino doesn’t remember the party though…” Nino answered cheerfully, “The wedding was beautiful! Nino cried”

“How did you end up outside my apartment?” Jun asked smiling a little as he pictured Nino crying with happiness at his brother’s wedding.

“Nino doesn’t know… Nino just knew he had to go there… It was strange” Nino he head tilting to one side as he looked at him, his black ear twitching a little. Jun could understand that, he had heard reports of some fated mates being ‘pulled’ to each other by unseen forces. He guessed this was just another one of those times.

“I see well I’m glad that you did I’ve been looking for you for a long time” Jun whispered before drinking his coffee. “It’s getting late…”

“I should go home Nii-chan will be looking for me” The small Nekoman said looking a little panicked.

“It’s okay, we can phone him and get him to pick you up” Jun said taking out his phone, “What’s his number?”

“Nino doesn’t know… He changed it when he moved” Nino said and Jun sighed guessing that it was the same number as his boss. He dialled Sho’s number waiting for an answer

“Sakurai residence, Masaki speaking”

“Um hi I’m with your brother Nino, I’m his life mate…” Jun said slowly and he was surprised by his reaction

“What?! Where is he?” Masaki almost screeched in his ear

“At the Niji café on Stixx street” Jun answered checking the address on the menu.

“Okay I’ll be right there don’t leave” he said and Jun rolled his eyes tempted to pull a silly face at the watching Nino. He hung up the phone and then ordered another drink for Nino.

Satoshi watched with interest as Masaki hung up the phone and then pulled on both his ears letting out a whiny meow.

“Ma-chan? What’s wrong?” Sho asked getting up and going to his life mate worry etched into his face, Masaki hugged him tightly his tail wrapping around his leg

“We have to go pick up Ka-Nino…” Masaki murmured and Satoshi’ ears pricked up noticing that his friends life mate had made the same mistake twice and he suspected that this was something to do with his life mate. “I’m sorry Oh-chan something has come up… We have to g-“

“This is about Kazu right, is something wrong?” Satoshi asked getting to his feet. Masaki’s face told him the answer even if he didn’t want to and he let out a sigh.

“I guess you should come with us… But please don’t hate N-Kazu before you know the truth” He whispered and Satoshi didn’t know how to respond to that and just nodded his head following them out and getting into Sho’s black car. His ears were twitching with worry as they drove alone and he realised that Masaki’s weren’t much better, he was surprised when they pulled up outside the restaurant that he had met Kazu in earlier and without a word Masaki got out and ran inside and he and Sho followed closely.

 Kazu was sat laughing at a table with someone that he didn’t recognise, and he was confused by the fact that he wasn’t having a… Reaction to Kazu, though he gave a start when Kazu let out an excited

“Ny-an!” and he saw him bouncing up and down in his chair.

“Nino...Come on its time to come home” Masaki said gently his eyes darting between them both and Kazu stepped forwards his tail flicking happily

“Nii-chan Nino wants you to meet my Junny… Sorry, Jun” Nino smiled sheepishly as he tugged Aiba’s arm and pulling him over to Jun. Satoshi felt his heart stop, what ‘his Junny’? His mind shouted wondering what was happening, he felt like screaming with his next sentence “Nii-chan this is my life mate Jun, isn’t he pretty?”

“Yes, he’s very cute” Aiba answered slowly but Satoshi could see that there was a hard look in his eyes “I’m Masaki Sakurai… Um… Nino we have to go…”

The guy with Kazu hissed and grabbed Kazu’s hand holding him tightly so the smaller Nekoman couldn’t move. Nothing made sense to Satoshi Even Nino was acting like he didn’t know who was, he couldn’t believe that, they had spent the whole afternoon together in this same café how could he just pretend that he didn’t know him and what was this other guy being his life mate?

“Nino is my life mate he isn’t going anywhere until you tell me what’s going on…” The guy that Kazu was with said and Aiba gave a sigh pinching his nose his ears drooping as his tail flicked

“This is getting more than a little confusing” He whined “We never should have let him out…”

“What?” Satoshi and he dark haired guy asked together and they looked at each other before looking away

“Okay I think I’m going to have to explain everything” He said motioning to the small guy “But first you have to meet Oh-chan”

“Oh-chan?”

“Satoshi Ohno, he’s Kazu’s life mate” Masaki answered slowly and Jun was even more lost

“Who’s Kazu?” He asked and slowly Satoshi looked at Kazu and pointed,

“He is” he muttered slowly, and the man let out another hiss,

“Okay can someone explain something?” He asked and Satoshi agreed nodding enthusiastically pain still in his heart, though he couldn’t understand why he wasn’t really reacting to Kazu, was he just mistaken before? Maybe they weren’t life mates

“I said I would… you have to come back with us” Masaki said with a sigh. They all left the café and piled into Sho’s car Nino curled up to his Junny’s side but after a while Satoshi felt his small hand grip his and held him tightly. When they arrived at a tall apartment building Kazu was fast asleep. Masaki carried him easily into the apartment seeming to refuse to let either Satoshi or Jun touch him. Sho motioned both Jun and Satoshi to follow him though he was looking just as lost. Jun and Sho sat down next to each other and waited for Masaki to return, both hoping that someone was going to explain something,

“He’s still asleep” Masaki murmured softly, back into the living room coming to sit on Sho, his fluffy tail wrapping around his life mate’s waist.

“So can someone explain what’s going on?” Jun hissed and Satoshi nodded in agreement “Who is this guy and who is Kazu?”

“Kazu is Nino and Nino is Kazu they’re the same person but they’re not the same…his full name is Kazunari Ninomiya”

“Then he’s playing us both?” Jun snapped and Satoshi was glad that Jun was looking a little lost it didn’t make him feel so alone

“No! It’s not like that! Kazu doesn’t know about Nino and Nino doesn’t know about Kazu… They are completely separate people with different emotions and personalities… Nino is cute ne? All innocent, sweet and shy… Kazu is a little bratty, cocky and outgoing…”

“How long has he been this way?” Satoshi asked softly, he wasn’t sure what to think about this but he wanted to know the truth.

“All his life… Kazuha… Kazunari’s sister and I thought that it would be best if we never let him out much, we were afraid that something like this would happen, if he is two people would that mean he could become fated to two people?”

“This is a load of crap…” Jun spat getting to his feet “He’s just playing us both”
