Satoshi sat down next to Jun and they both leant forwards just slightly as Masaki sank into the chair opposite them, he cleared his throat rather dramatically obviously enjoying the attention. He fluffed out his tail and smoothed down his ears and then inched in the chair a little

“So what do you know?” Jun asked in a politely irritated voice and Masaki gave an apologetic smile

“Nino and Kazu moved here when I was five years old with a girl who I always thought was their sister” he answered slowly and Satoshi chewed his lip trying to make sense of what Masaki was telling him

“But she isn’t Kazu’s sister?” he asked eventually and Masaki shook his head

“No, when she met her life mate she told me that she was more like their guardian” he said “I’m just as confused as you too… But she said that I was picked to be their guardian…”

“Do you know when she’s coming back?” Jun asked and Masaki shook his head, his ears flicking as he played with his tail.

“No, I’m sorry…” he murmured “they told me that they were going on an around the world cruise”

“So… What else do you know? Why does Nino think you’re his brother?”

“He was only three at the time and Nino got confused thinking that I was his real brother, we tried to explain but he became convinced that he was Nino Aiba and well he kind of got depressed if we said that he didn’t have a brother… We just let it go… His parents took him to doctors and psychiatrists but none of them could determine that there was actually anything wrong with him, his case of split personality is strange but so far it hasn’t caused any problems and they said that he would grow out of it… Obviously he hasn’t and we’ve all just learnt to accept that was the way they are…”

“So, there is no explanation for it?” Jun sighed with mild disappointment and Satoshi had to admit that he could feel the same disappointment. He had really hoped that there would be some answers today but they were still as clueless as they had been yesterday

“It was just the will of the fates” Masaki sighed shaking his head slowly and Jun made a murmur pulling out a book from his bag

“You know the story of Takuya and Takumi, don’t you?” He said and Satoshi had to admit they sounded similar but he couldn’t remember where and he had to admit it by slowly shaking his head his ears flattening against his head. “They were the twins that killed themselves… That angered the fates…”

“My mum say’s that they were Onobu and Hita’s sons” Masaki put in his tail flicking with excitement as he bounced up and down in the chair, “Takumi saved Takuya from the evil prince but his longing for his brother drove him to kill himself and Takumi threw himself from the tower”

“Onobu and Hita were so angered by the prince’s selfishness that it drove them to start fated bonding…” Jun said and Satoshi licked his lips as his school lessons started coming back to him slowly “Hita claimed that we Nekomen couldn’t be trusted to find their own happiness so they find them for us… They didn’t want a repeat of Takuya and Takumi…

“And that proves that they were the fates children, ne?! Because if they weren’t Hita and Onobu wouldn’t have been so bothered by it…” Almost shouted and they turned to him he gave a small blush looking down at his hands “That’s what my mum say’s…”

“Yeah but were they even real?” Satoshi asked and Jun shrugged hugging the book a little,

“Nobody knows, but it is the only story of the fates we know” He mumbled and Satoshi sighed trying to put together the pieces of the jigsaw that Masaki and Jun was giving him.

“So why are you bringing this up?” Masaki asked and Satoshi nodded along, Jun stopped hugging the book and opened it quickly at a page with a sketch of two twins that, if you squinted a little they could almost pass for Kazu.

“Well I went to the library to ask if there had been any one else like us before, and after thinking I was a pervert she told me that there was a story about Takumi and Takuya, after they had killed themselves… Here look…”  Jun pushed the book at him and pointed at the story, Satoshi read through it as quickly as possible, his interest increasing when he reached

“New evidence has come to light supporting the claims that Takumi and Takuya were reborn as according to the historian Yuichi Kentaro, a diary written by Takuya’s life mate, Jun-ki, the king of Girth. Kentaro, states that it clearly tells of both of his life mate’s personalities and of the third lover Katoshi, the bard, though some scholars have moved against the evidence, speaking out and stating that it is a work of fiction created in the brain of a romantic. After his findings were dismissed by the church of the fates Yuichi Kentaro has retired into the background and thus far his findings, other than those that were stated in this book have never been published in their entirety…”

“So you’re saying that Nino and Kazu are Takumi and Takuya?” Masaki gasped with amazement clapping his hands together in an excitement that Satoshi couldn’t understand. Things were getting more and more complicated he thought looking at Jun, in his heart he was almost glad to see that Jun was just as confused as he was but at the same time he was disappointed, he hoped that he would have some answers.

“No I’m just saying that this guy might have some answers” Jun said stabbing a finger at the name in the book. He chewed his lip feeling completely lost, he had hoped that there would be answers but he should have known that would be too simple. He gave a sigh leaning back against the sofa,

“We can track him down, can’t we?” Masaki murmured and Jun hoped that was true.

“So what do we do until then?” Jun asked “Do we tell Nino and Kazu about each other? And what about moving in… And… Other things…”

“Other things?” Masaki questioned his expression blank and Jun almost groaned his cheeks flushing

“… Ma-Mating…” Jun stammered out and it was almost unnerving how much Satoshi seemed start paying attention. Masaki gave a giggle

“Now that you’ll have to work out by yourselves, should be fun ne? As for living together… I know that Nino is excited about it, after I brought him home today he kept going on and on about it... Asking if you would mind all his games and Kazu is just as excited… So yeah I would move in together… And I would tell them about each other… Even if they don’t believe you, it would be better than one of them waking up with the wrong partner, ne?” He said and Jun had to agree unable to stand the idea of Nino accidently waking up beside Satoshi.

“Ny-a..n” A sleepy voice said alerting them all to the fact that Nino had woken up. Immediately Jun was on his feet and moving over to him. “J-Junny’s he-re” Nino said standing on his tiptoes to rub against him. “Ahnn… Nino has Junny’s picture…”

“It’s okay, Nino…” Jun told him catching his life mate’s hand to stop him from running away “You can give it to me later but we need to talk…”

“Talk?” Nino asked his head tilting to one side as he looked up at him with his large brown eyes, and Jun couldn’t stop himself from giving him a kiss on the lips, stroking his cheek lightly. Nino purred rubbing his face against his hand for a while. Jun took him to the sofa and sat him down on his lap holding him from behind. “Ah Junny’s friend is here again… Hello, Mr Satoshi, nyan”

“Hello Nino” Satoshi said with a smile, a silence fell for a while and then Jun gave a sigh turning Nino to face him.

“Nino…You know you’re an amazing person, ne?” He said slowly and Nino gave a shy smile, hiding his face behind his tail and Jun kissed his forehead “Well you’re even more amazing than I thought because inside Nino there is another person, another amazing person named Kazu…”
