Matsu nodded forcing himself not to shiver at the thought of the banshee; they drew on fear and played with your emotions, their method of attack was getting inside your head using your own thoughts against you. His body was still trembling from his earlier experience and he looked at Nino, blushing when he saw the demon staring at him his eyes dancing in the fire light. Matsu felt a shiver run up his spine but it was no longer from fear, he could still feel every touch Nino had made on his body he wasn’t sure that was a good thing or a bad thing right now. The sky cracked with lightning and the earth seemed to shake, announcing the arrival of the banshee. The world seemed to be drained of all warmth as it came closer, its grey ragged robes dragging on the ground, it opened its mouth letting out a painful scream that had them groaning as they fell to the floor covering their ears. It laughed, as Aiba sent out a green protective fire that circled them,

Witch that powers only work when its daddy is close...” It said turning blindfolded eyes to Aiba; Aiba stared at it unable to pull his gaze away “Frightened of what it is he hides behind a stupid grin...”

“I’m... Not... Afraid...” Aiba stammered trying to focus as the banshee pushed its way into his head, reading his memories like an open book.

Doesn’t want to be a bad witch so pretends to be nice... Dreams of killing everything...Even his monk

“Shut up!” Aiba snapped only numbly aware that the others were trying to attack it,

“Masa’...” Nino murmured coming to his side sending out a wave of fire towards the banshee, that let a howl like laugh,

Witch... Wants to be cast down, ashamed of what it is of what his daddy is... Wanted to be normal wanted to play with other children... A half breed monster... Mummy never loved him, afraid of him wanted him dead...”

“Masa you know this isn’t true...” Nino told him surprised when Sakurai sent a wave of water at the banshee, his eyes fixed on the pale witch, which had tears rolling down his face. The banshee laughed feeding on Aiba’s emotions as the witch sobbed,

Wants to kill wants to hurt... But wants his mummy and daddy to love him... A monster that should never have been born the accident of a one nightstand...”

“Shut-up...” Aiba pleaded his voice fading slightly, his protection fire failing

“Masaki...” Nino tried again but the banshee let out another wail and Aiba fell to the floor. Sakurai hit it with other wave of water and the Banshee turned on him,

Ah the monk... So easy to give up his vow, to fall for a monster so like the one that killed his parents... You were a coward then hiding in a cupboard while your family screamed for help...”

Matsu hit with and enchanted tree stump before it could take a strong hold on Sakurai and the banshee turned to face the hunter

Ah the pretty hunter, making love to those he swore to kill... He will never love you... You will always be second place to some long forgotten king, even amongst the hunters you were un-liked, too sure of yourself, you always had to be perfect... And now look how far you’ve sank... Falling in love with the heartless demon...” Matsu blinked as the banshee tried to force its way in, only to be blocked by Nino. The banshee roared with rage trying harder to break through to reach Matsu’s secrets.  Nino pulled his staff out of the ground and aimed it at the banshee firing a bolt of lightning at it, the banshee let out a scream, as thunder ripped through the air.

And the lonely demon that likes to play with mortals... You could have ruled...”

“Oh is it my turn now? This should be fun” Nino grinned looking at the banshee, his eyes hardening slightly. The banshee let out its wail like laughter, turning its sightless eyes on to him

So confident.... But we both know that’s just for show...”  The banshee said its high pitched tone cutting into his mind

“Do we?” Nino raised an eyebrow “I can give you list of all my bad points... I know them all better than you... And sorry I don’t lose any sleep over them”

That used to be true... But not anymore... You worry about the feelings you have for the hunter and everybody knows you miss ‘Oh-chan’” Nino continued to grin but his hands clenched tightly as his side, “Why did he leave you? Why did he make you live without him? You ask yourself the same questions every night...”

“Yeah... Well this is fun, but if you can’t do better...”

“Your son... Your ‘Pretty hunter’ do you think they care about you?”

“Even if they don’t I’ll still look after them,” Nino said aiming the staff, and hitting it with another bolt of lightning, the banshee screamed forcing its grip more tightly in Nino’s mind.

Look after them, you? You’ve never cared about anyone but yourself...”

“I admit my priorities have always been myself...”

You treat everyone as if they’re playing cards for your amusement... So afraid of being hurt again, your precious Ohno how much must he have loved you to leave you all alone...They’ll leave you... Just as he left you, does anyone know how much you cried when he left?”

“Well they do now....And if they’re going to leave I’ll have fun with them until then, okay? But you’re really boring me so... Hunter any time you feel ready...” Nino shouted, Matsu gave a nod biting his lip before screaming out the binding spell. The banshee turned but it was too late, Matsu trapped it tightly, covering its mouth before it could let out another scream, and then saying the rites of the three he burnt it. Just as Nino sank to his knees on the ground, groaning

“Nino...”

“I’m fine...Remind me never to allow a banshee in so deep a again... It felt so gross...” Nino gave a small smile and then looked at Matsu “You did well... Your first banshee”

“Are you sure you’re okay?”

“I’m fine” He repeated waving away his hand, staring at Aiba who was still on the ground “Masa... Is he okay?”

“He fainted but he should be” Sakurai said from his position at Aiba’s side, Nino nodded closing his eyes with relief,

“Are you okay, Jun?” He said taking his hand and giving it a small squeeze Matsu nodded, sitting beside him; Nino gave a sad smile and rested his head against his shoulder trying to forget what had just been said but it was impossible as was the way of the banshee, they made you live what you rather forget. He looked at Aiba’s face stabs of guilt working their way into his heart, he never realized Aiba had felt so much hatred at being born a witch, but in hindsight he should have known, his son was one of the most loving people he knew, and was always having to do battle with his own nature. Aiba was always so cheerful he hadn’t realized. Matsu read the look in the demons face, and saw how much it was tearing him apart. The banshee had been wrong, Nino loved Aiba, more than even the demon realized and even if he said that his son was an ‘accident’ he was one that he would make over and over if he had the chance. Sakurai was soothing Aiba gently with a cloth when the witch opened his and looked up at him.

“Did I faint?” He asked numbly as he sat up, Sakurai nodded to choked to actually speak “Wow I really am useless”

“Masa...” Nino breathed almost crawling over to him

“Please don’t start, I didn’t mean to...Huh?” Aiba froze as Nino hugged him tightly,

“Don’t scare me like that!” Nino whispered “I thought it had completely drained you...”

“I guess mum would have been upset...”

“I would have been too” Nino told him truthfully, “You were an accident, but you were the best one, I’ve ever made...”

“Nino?”

“You’re not just my son; you’re my best friend... You’re the only reason I care about these mortals Masaki... And your mum; she loved you more than anything, there was never a day when you scared her... Even when hunters were sniffing around she was so proud of you...”

Aiba hugged him tightly tears rolling down his cheeks, “I know...“ He said

The hunter and the monk watched the exchange in silence for a few minutes and then decided to leave them in their moment.

“He really is a strange demon...” Sakurai said “I read all about demons and witches in the monastery but they never covered ones like those two”

“They have a heart” Matsu nodded with a half smile, “Nino just hides his better than Aiba...I’m sorry about your family... But you were only five; there was no shame in hiding...”

“I know...Everybody said I would forget the screams, but I still hear them everyday...I thought I’d given up on the guilt but...” Sakurai whispered with a shudder “That thing it was horrible, it was like it was reading all my memories like a book... You didn’t let it bother you much...”

“Nino” Matsu said with a shrug “I could feel it in my mind but Nino was there to shielding me from most of it...”

“I guess a lot of what’s been discovered won’t be easily forgotten... Are you really in love with Nino?”

“I don’t see what that has to do with you monk” Matsu snapped

“I’m not saying that it’s a bad thing! I mean I’m in love with his son... And from what I’ve seen besides from being a complete flirt for a demon he’s nice...”

“Thank-you for your warm opinion monk...” Nino said coming up behind them, “Masa wants to speak to you”

“Um... Right...” Sakurai nodded running back to camp. Nino and Matsu stared at each other in silence, Matsu acutely aware that Nino knew that he was in love him. Nino just smiled almost apologetically at him

“We’re going to have to move soon, I don’t if it was just a rouge banshee or the enemy has already heard about our plans but its no longer safe here...”

Matsu nodded surprised. He looked at Nino and realized he looked just as defeated as the rest of them, there was none of his bratty arrogance in his eyes just sadness. He pulled Matsu slightly away from the camp and it a small fire with his fingers. He looked up at the moon, running his fingers through his already messy hair. “I hate night time...” He muttered darkly, “The last time I saw Ohno was at night...”

“Why did he leave?” Matsu asked somehow sensing Nino would tell him tonight, Nino sighed and then looked at the hunter for a moment before saying

“There was a war, it lasted for years, and it never affected the mortal world, the kings kept it away... Some humans were caught in the cross fire but none of you knew what was really happening but it was there being fought in the shadows... Just out of the reach of human eyes...”

“Did you fight?”

Nino nodded, “I fought, I never betrayed Ohno... He sent me away just before the end...”

“I never thought you would betray him” Matsu admitted

“I hated him for a long time after... Because he had sent me away, I wanted to be with him... But instead he sent me to live an immortal life without him... I hated him so much and then I went to his house and found this...” Nino held up the pendent with a sad twisted smile “There was also a letter... The guards wouldn’t let me, a demon take it so I stole it...”

“So the kings they were killed?” Matsu asked it was always one of the parts of the story that confused him; the books always just said ‘They left’, but none of them had mentioned a war either.

“No... They were ripped from their bodies and sent as spirits to the after world” Nino answered “Death would have been kinder... But the kings couldn’t die... The enemy had to cunning...”

“So that is where we have to go?”

“We will have to go down and talk to the keeper of that world soon...” Nino nodded the far away look in his eyes again.

“You mean death?”

“I guess you could call him that, I’ll call him Matthew” Nino gave a small chuckle

“What? Why?”

“Because that’s his name” Nino grinned

“You know him?”

“We’ve met...” Nino nodded

“Please don’t tell me you slept with death...” Matsu almost begged recognizing the tone Nino was using.

“Okay I won’t” The demon smirked, his eyes flashing slightly.

“No way! Seriously?”

“You told me not to tell you” Nino laughed and then seeing his face drop, he linked their fingers tightly “I’ve been around for a long time... And I’ve enjoyed my life most of it, but I am with you... And I will be with you until we bring back the three kings...”

“But you don’t love me...”

“I’m fond of you more than I ever thought I would be...I was just using you as a tool but not anymore” Nino murmured “You honesty shouldn’t love me either, I’m going to be gone soon... Let’s just say we like each other and have fun, okay? When I’m gone...”

“Shut up...” Matsu muttered hating the fact that he could say he would be gone soon so easily, he couldn’t say he wanted to bring back the three kings anymore knowing that would have to be ripped from his life to do it; Nino smiled gently and then snuggled up against him. Matsu let out a sigh and then nodded pushing his feelings aside

“Okay... We’ll do it your way”

“Thank-you...” Nino kissed him on the lips and the settled back into his arms

“Do you think Aiba and the Monk will be okay?” Matsu asked after awhile

“You’re worried about their relationship?”

“It’s got to be weird when the banshee pretty much told the monk, Aiba dreamt about killing him...”

Nino gave a half smile but didn’t answer straight away, remembering the steady look in Sakurai’s eyes when faced by him. The monk had more courage than he gave himself credit for but Nino made a new promise in his heart that no matter what happened when finding the three kings Masa would be safe and able to keep living. “They’ll be fine” He said. They watched the night pass in silence after that and just before dawn they set out towards the after world.

Sakurai threw down his bow in frustration his archery had been messed up since the tournament where he had only come second. He wasn’t too bothered about second place, but to lose to that person was unforgivable he thought, he could never understand why an idiot like that could drew such a beautiful bow. He sat on his bed glaring at the wall, his mind filled with images of the concentration on that guys normally idiotic face, as he drew his bow his eyes fixed solely on the target in front of him.

“Sho-chan!” A hyperactive voice shout from downstairs “Dinner’s ready...”

“I’m not hungry!” He snapped back irritated by that voice reliving his humiliation again.

“Aww, but Sho-chan...”

“I told you I’m not hungry” He snapped again, lying down on the bed and staring up at the ceiling.

Aiba Masaki had been a permanent house guest since the start of the school year, they had been asked by his mothers’ old school friend to take in her son who wanted to study in Tokyo. At first Sakurai had been excited about have a boy his own age to hang around with, his brother was a lot younger than he was, and he’d never had many friends since most people thought he was stuck up, even his club mates only spoke to him very politely, sometimes even if he’d never admit it being in the large house was lonely. It was great at first, during the summer; Aiba was fun to be with even if he was a little hyper. Within a week of school starting though he had started to dislike him, Aiba was just too cheerful and too friendly, after only two days in the school he was friends with half the male population and almost all of the female. Not that Aiba seemed to notice though; he was like a human whirlwind, not caring about who stood in his path. But he didn’t start really hating him until he joined the archery club. Aiba had said he had only started half way through middle school so no-one expected much. But after his first display they found out that both his hit ratio and form was better than some of the senpai’s on the team. He was made a team regular after his second week, the team welcomed him with open arms, and Sakurai felt even more pushed out, the house wasn’t empty any more but Sakurai shut himself in his room, it felt worse when he could hear the laughter coming from downstairs. Aiba tried not to leave him out and encouraged him to join in but the looks the other members gave him told a different story so he politely refused. He reassured himself that it was just beginners’ luck, that soon Aiba would start to slip, but he didn’t, if anything he went from strength to strength and by his first tournament there was no question as to who was going to take first. For the first time Sakurai had lost against someone, but it wasn’t the last, at nearly every tournament even if it was just by one point he kept losing. Sakurai punched the bed, knowing what he was feeling was petty but unable to control his emotions. There was a soft knock on the door

“What do you want?” He snapped as the door was pushed open and he saw Aiba standing there holding a tray of food “I said I wasn’t hungry”

“You have to eat; you haven’t had anything all day...”

“What are you my nanny now?”

“I just want to be friends” Aiba whispered putting the tray down on the desk and then looking at him again.

“We can’t ever be friends... We’re rivals” Sakurai snapped “As long as we are on the archery team we’ll always be rivals for the top...”

“Then I’ll withdraw” Aiba said quickly, “If Sho-chan, wants I’ll quit the archery club”

“What? Are you joking?!” Sakurai cried

“No... I don’t want Sho-chan to hate me, so I’ll quit” Aiba shrugged, grinning again “So don’t hate me anymore Sho-chan, ne?”

“Idiot! Don’t even think about wasting your talent so easily...” Sakurai shouted hitting him on the head

“But... I only joined because you were in the club...I only started doing archery because of you... But it started to make you hate me... So I’ll leave...”

“What? You only started because of me?”

“My friend in middle school he did archery and I tagged along to one of the tournaments and I saw you... You were amazing; I’d never seen anyone so focused before... So I joined the club so that I might be able to meet you one day but I never managed to make the regular team I was only a reserve” He shrugged with a sad smile “When mum told me she wanted me to study in Tokyo I wasn’t sure but when I came here and saw that I was going to be living with you...I thought we would become friends but you hate me now” Sakurai felt a stab of guilt as his sunny face became downcast,

“I don’t hate you...”

“But you’re always mad at me...”

“I don’t hate you... I’m just jealous” Sakurai admitted “Archery was always something I was good at... Nobody could beat me and then you came along... You act like a complete idiot but when you handle a bow... Your breath taking to watch”

“Eh? Really?” Aiba asked his eyes widening “Me?”

“Yes, you” Sakurai nodded and then sighed scratching his head “Can we start from the beginning?”

“Huh?”

“I’m Sakurai Sho, nice to meet you”

“Aiba Masaki... Likewise” Aiba grinned dipping him a polite bow, Sakurai let out a short laugh and then picked up his bow

“Would you like to come and practice with me?”

“Yes!” Aiba gave a happy squeal and ran upstairs to get his bag, while Sakurai rolled his eyes wondering how he could have thought about was calculating, he was nice because he was nice and he really did want to be his friend. They went to the archery range Aiba talking about anything and everything that sprang to mind, from the weather and if butterflies ever got tired of flying.

“Aiba... What do you think about when you’re drawing your bow?” He asked as they stood facing the targets, Aiba blushed and looked at his feet before answering

“You” He admitted causing Sakurai to blink repeatedly and then blush himself

“Me?”

“I keep thinking you’re watching me...” Aiba nodded in a small voice. Sakurai felt his heart thump against his ribs, as they both shuffled their feet

“Um... Shall we start?” He said after awhile, Aiba nodded seemingly thankful he hadn’t questioned him too deeply. Their friendship flourished even though the rest of the team couldn’t work out why, they were delighted that their aces were in right frame of mind, after accepting Aiba’s friendship Sakurai’s hit ratio had shot up and now they were equal. He hadn’t told Aiba but he had started picturing Aiba whenever he drew the bow, and he was positive that was what had helped his score. Aiba had become even more breath taking to watch but just not while doing his archery; Sakurai had started staring at him in the team shower.  Sakurai slowly came to an un-nerving realization that he was falling in love with the hyper younger guy. Aiba didn’t notice anything was different and seemed happy to be his friend, he had no idea the guy in the next bedroom was having fantasies about having sex with him. Sakurai began to feel dirty, whenever Aiba was smiling at him so innocently, but he couldn’t help himself from playing with himself over his friend. Sakurai lay down on is bed, his lower half was already aching it had been since he had seen Aiba in the shower after practice, closing his eyes he pictured every droplet of water that had snaked its way over Aiba’s skin, Sakurai let out a groan, stroking the front of his school trousers as he thought about licking that perfect body, kissing the birthmark on his shoulder. He undid his trousers slipping a hand on his already hard member, he tried to imagine what Aiba would sound like moaning underneath him with his slightly breathless voice. He began pumping at himself lazily, calling out “Masaki...”

“Sho-chan... Eh...” Aiba froze in the doorway, his cheeks flushing hotly while Sakurai tried to cover himself “Sorry, Sho-chan... I thought I heard you... Calling for me”

Sakurai wished the ground would just open up and swallow him; his heart was slamming against his ribs as he looked at the blushing shocked Aiba, who had come further into the room instead of running in a blind panic like he thought he would. Aiba came and sat on the bed a small smile on his face as he slowly moved away the cover that was hiding his still erect member. “You were doing that over me?” Aiba asked softly, Sakurai bit his lip but gave a small nod, jumping when he felt Aiba’s hand gently gripping him

“Ai-ba...” He gasped

“You were calling me ‘Masaki’ before” Aiba pouted as he moved his hand slowly up and down his length  as he leaned in closer “Call me Masaki, Sho-chan...”

“M-Masaki...” Sakurai panted staring at his face, Aiba beamed brightly and then let go,

“Wait here...” He said, although Sakurai was tempted to ask where he was going to go with a raging hard on Aiba had vanished before he had the chance. He came back a few seconds later carrying a paper bag, he emptied the bag on the bed and Sakurai’s eyes widened at what was inside condoms and lube.

“Masaki... Why do you have this stuff?” He asked his heart sinking when he thought that Aiba was sleeping around

“I bought it today” Aiba told him, “Your family’s gone away for the weekend... I was planning on seducing you...”

“Wha-... You were going to seduce me?”

“Yep...” Aiba nodded still smiling brightly as he pulled his shirt off and then started unfastening Sakurai’s

“Aiba wait...” Sakurai said grabbing his hands and stopping him, “What...”

“I like Sho-chan... And you like me too right,” Aiba said running a finger down his member again causing him to shiver “So let’s sleep together... Or don’t you want to sleep with me?”

Sakurai let out a growl, wondering how Aiba could even think that, he pulled off his own shirt and then lay Aiba back on the bed. Aiba smiled up at him, his eyes shining happily “Do you really like me?”

“Of course... I love Sho-chan” Aiba nodded, Sakurai smiled, bringing their lips together in their first kiss, as his hand trailed over Aiba’s body, the warmth and smoothness of his skin was something he could never have imagined. He kissed his way down to the birth marked shoulder unable to believe this wasn’t just another of his fantasies. Aiba let out a small giggle as Sakurai’s hand stroked his stomach, “I’m ticklish there...” Sakurai smiled as he looked at him and brought his lips to the spot that had caused such a sweet sound, letting his tongue taste the beautiful skin. Aiba moaned softly, as Sakurai’s tongue and lips touched every exposed inch of his chest, while his hands were unfastening Aiba’s trousers to release his own hardness. In what seemed like seconds Aiba was naked on his bed and Sakurai licked his lips as he took in the sight, he was more beautiful to look at than he had pictured. Sakurai thought, Aiba blushed slightly looking up at him through half closed eyes “Sho-chan...” He breathed causing Sakurai to let out another groan as he covered Aiba’s length with his mouth, gently sucking and licking it. The moans and gasps Aiba made just made him work harder at the length loving the feel of him throbbing in his mouth. Aiba’s fingers gripped at his hair as he felt a fire building in his stomach “S-Sho-chan...I’m...” He groaned wanting to warn his lover. Sakurai just continued to suck, until Aiba’s hips arched and he released in his throat. “S-sorry...” He panted sinking into the pillows his chest heaving as he watched Sakurai swallow his juices

“Masaki... Tastes nice”

“Sho-chan!” Aiba blushed but was smiling as Sakurai took the lube and covered his fingers, Sakurai felt him tense slightly as he pushed the first finger in.

“Does it hurt? I’m sorry...”

“It feels weird... But its okay...” Aiba told him, though his eyes were tightly closed, Sakurai added a second finger, kissing him when he let out a hiss of pain,

“I’m sorry, Masaki” Sakurai whispered against his lips as he pushed in a third finger and Aiba cried out in pain.

“I’m... Okay... “ Aiba gasped as tears filled his eyes, Sakurai bit his lip as he slowly began to move his fingers inside him, wanting to get him as prepared as possible. Soon Aiba’s moans of pain became groans of pleasure as he found that magical spot inside him.

“Are you ready?” Sakurai asked kissing and nibbling at his lips, Aiba nodded though there was a small amount of fear in his eyes. Sakurai pulled his fingers out rolled the condom on, smearing it with plenty of lube before positioning himself in front of his hole. Aiba screamed silently gripping his shoulder tightly with his nails as he pushed inside, half way at first, wanting his lover to get used to it. He slowly withdrew and then pushed back into the warmness, loving the feel of Aiba surrounding him, as he felt Aiba relax he moved more trying to find that spot that ad caused those amazing groans from Aiba.

“Ah... Sho-chan” Aiba moaned telling him that he had found it, Sakurai kissed him as he kept pounding at that spot, the sounds Aiba was making was almost enough to drive him over the edge, “Sh-o... Ch-an... So close...” Aiba moaned and Sakurai reached down to pump at his length until Aiba released another load of warm sticky liquid on their stomachs, his ass muscles clenched tightly around Sakurai forcing him to release with a low groan of ‘Masaki’, against Aiba’s ear. They didn’t move for awhile Aiba trapped under his weight and Sakurai wanted to stay connected to Aiba as long as possible. It wasn’t until he started to go soft that he pulled out and removed the condom wrapping it in the paper bag before throwing it in the bin. He wrapped a sheet around his waist and went to the bathroom getting a face cloth he came back to wipe Aiba’s stomach and sticky member. Aiba smiled at him through half closed eyes and then pulled him back down hugging him tightly, “That was amazing...”

“I hurt you though...” Sakurai said against his ear

“I doubt there’s ever been a first time that didn’t hurt” Aiba laughed “It will get better though... The more we do it...”

“You want to do it again?”

“Well... Don’t you?” Aiba asked with a happy grin “We’ve got until your parents come back on Sunday to practice being quiet...”

“Aiba...”

“Back to Aiba again?” Aiba mumbled

“Masaki... How did you know I could be seduced?” Sakurai asked

“I’m an idiot I’m not blind... I saw you staring at me... Because I was always staring at you, plus these walls are really thin... You’re not very quiet...” Aiba laughed his eyes flashing happily, as he ran his hands over Sakurai’s back. Sakurai blushed burying his face against his chest, although he was happy. A strange tiredness washed over him as his breathed in Aiba’s warm scent, he guessed Aiba was right they would really have to practice at keeping quiet, cause he defiantly wanted to do that again.

“Ne, Sho-chan... Are we still rivals in archery?”

“What? No...”

“That’s good... I love you Sho-chan...”

“I love you too, Masaki” Sakurai said kissing his shoulder before drifting to sleep. When he opened his eyes he found himself alone on the bed, sitting up he scratched his head, looking around he wondered if last night had just been an amazingly realistic sex dream, until he saw the lube and condoms on the side. He smiled and then pulled on some clothes, going to find Aiba. He found him in the kitchen making food he grinned at him as he entered.

“Hey Sho-chan” He said putting a plate down in front of him and Sakurai ate it thankfully, and then grabbed Aiba hugging him tightly. Aiba giggled happily in his arms kissing his neck “We have to get ready... We have to go to the tournament...”

“Damn... When get back... We can practice right?” Sakurai whispered stroking Aiba’s clothed ass gently, running his fingers in the crease

“Of course Sho-chan...” Aiba agreed kissing his cheek, before pushing him away to get ready. They tournament was a success even though he came second to Aiba in the point ratio, he didn’t feel any of the hatred towards him anymore and even when the team mentioned it he just shrugged smiling at his beautiful hyper boyfriend still amazed that he was actually his. They ‘practiced’ a lot after that, but as it became less painful Aiba became more vocal and although Sakurai loved those sounds he doubted his parents would be too thrilled about them. He wasn’t sure how he was going to tell his parents that they were dating, but he was going to have to, he doubted if Aiba was going to be able to keep it a secret. When his family came home they waited for Shu to go to a friend’s before calmly breaking the news waiting for the war that was about to happen, his parents stared at them and then smiled

“I’m happy for you but... What am I going to tell his mum?” His mum said her eyes widening. Sakurai’s mouth fell open as he looked at his parents

“You don’t mind that I’m dating a guy?”

“You’re happy right?” His dad smiled putting a hand on both their shoulders “That’s all a parent can ask for, from his child”

Sakurai stared at his parents and then at Aiba wanting to pinch himself to see if he was really awake.

“But um... Please keep the noise down...” His dad said as delicately as possible

“It’s okay, we’ve had loads of practice” Aiba said without thinking, then blushing wildly as they all stared at him. Sakurai smiled and took his hand

“Come on, Masaki...” He said leading him out of the room “I’m still determined to beat you at archery...”

“Eh? I thought we weren’t rivals anymore...” Aiba said as he was pulled along. Sakurai smiled looking up at the sky, hoping that fate knew he was grateful even if his lover was a hyperactive idiot.
