Nino and Matsu normally ignored each other at other at school so Nino was surprised when at lunch Matsu came up to him.

“What?” Nino snapped, with more force than he felt, but he was aware that Matsu’s entourage were watching them closely. He really had no desire to be the subject of the schools gossip for a week.

“I just wanted to tell you that I’ve invited Sakurai around tonight… So if you don’t want to be there…”

“That’s fine I was going to Aiba’s anyway” Nino said with a shrug, Matsu’s eyes narrowed but he didn’t say anything. He just gave a smile and the went back to his followers

“What was that about?” The girl that had been clinging onto him the other day asked. Matsu shrugged

“Just some family stuff” He said and Nino was almost happy at how coldly he treated her until he remembered that it wasn’t because of him. It was because of Sakurai. Pushing away depressing thoughts he went into the dining refusing to look at Matsu’s table.

He saw Aiba sitting at their normal table grinning to himself as he looked at his phone.

“Hey Nino what do you think of this picture” Aiba asked as soon as Nino had reached the table, slamming his phone into his face so hard it almost broke Nino’s nose.

Rubbing his nose he took the phone, his eyes bulging out of his head as he saw the picture

“Masaki! This is you naked!” He snapped throwing the phone down and raining hits on his friend head and shoulders. Not caring, or not noticing that everybody in the dining room had fallen silent and was watching them. With one last hit Nino sank into the chair.

“Yeah, what do you think?” Aiba asked used to Nino’s bulling by now. Nino was about to answer when he finely became aware that everybody was staring at them. Everybody except Matsu, Nino noticed as he looked over at him.

Matsu was eating his dinner with a completely blank expression on his face. His face seemed tight and after finishing his meal he left quickly leaving his followers still sitting at the table.

“You did that on purpose!” Nino accused with a hiss turning to his friend, Aiba nodded smiling as he put his phone back in his pocket and started munching on his fried chicken

“If he is dating Sakurai they’re not happy together… If he was he wouldn’t act like that” Aiba said between bites.

“Why do you keep doing this?”

“Because I think it will be fun to see you get together, plus you’re in your last year of high school and you’re still a virgin”

“So… I bet lots of people are” Nino said hoping nobody had heard that.

“Yeah but they’re not married” Aiba giggled softly

“If they’re not happy together, why would Matsu come and tell me that Sakurai was coming around tonight and he didn’t want me to be there?” Nino asked

“Is that what he really said?” Aiba asked with a raised eyebrow.

“Yes!” Nino lied it wasn’t completely what he had said but it was close enough.

“Maybe he just wanted to see how you’d react…”

“Masaki, please… Can we just drop it, even if it’s just for today?” Nino pleaded and with a sigh Aiba nodded

“So what did you think to the picture?”

“Why do you have a naked picture of yourself?”

“Oh-chan did it as his project… He needed a life model…”

“I can’t imagine you staying still for long enough” Nino mumbled with surprise, Aiba let out a loud laugh.

“He tired me out before he did it” He said and Nino groaned loudly, wondering why he needed to know that. Ever since Aiba and Ohno Satoshi had gotten together Nino had been hearing stories about his friends sex life and if he hadn’t been shown the love bites on his friend he wouldn’t have believed half of them.

Ohno didn’t look it but apparently the sleepy artist was pretty wild. Nino wondered vaguely what sex with Matsu would be like but then pushed the thought away.

“I can come to yours tonight, right?”

“Sure, Oh-chan will be there too…”

“I’m not posing for any pictures” Nino said flatly and Aiba mock pouted

“I think would make a good pair for his next project” He said and Nino knew he was lying. Aiba wasn’t serious about many things but Ohno was one of the things he was.

Nino stayed with the Aiba’s for as long as possible that night and although Yusuke said he could have the spare bed in his room, since Ohno was staying over he refused politely and went home hoping that Sakurai hadn’t decided to stay.

As soon as he pushed the door open he heard Matsu laughing softly and realised that Sakurai was still there. Nino took his shoes off and walked into the living room. Matsu and Sakurai were sitting on the sofa, too close to be having just a friendly chat.

“Sorry…” Nino mumbled heading towards his bedroom

“Kazu…”

“What? I stayed out as late as I could…” He snapped coldly, guessing that he should have stayed at Aiba’s

“I was just going to say, ‘Welcome home…”

“I’m home” Nino muttered going into his bedroom. He leant against the door and he could hear soft murmurs but he couldn’t make out clearly what was being said. Without switching on his light he went to his bed, almost tripping on the still un-emptied boxes. He got on to his bed and stared at the wall. Before he had admitted it out aloud he could always ignore what he was feeling but now he couldn’t.

He had been in love with Matsu for so long it was painful to let him go, even though they had never really dated. Tear slid down his cheeks but he wiped them away.  He heard footsteps going to the front door and he figured that Sakurai had left. A few minutes later he heard then coming to his bedroom door.

There was a knock and then “Kazu?”

Nino pulled the pillow over his head and ignored him hoping that he would go away but was disappointed when he did. He wondered if there was any way that he could pull out of this ‘Marriage’ knowing he couldn’t take much more of this.

The next day Nino avoided Matsu as possible until he got a text from him saying that he would be in the library that night. Nino invited Aiba and Ohno over not wanting to be alone in the apartment and they had fun playing on the wii until about 7 when Aiba went to get some snacks and soft drinks.

Ohno was old enough to buy them alcohol but he refused to buy any for them on a school night.

“You’re going to work for your family right?” Ohno asked, more to say something than because he was really interested.

“Hmm” Nino whispered not really listening to him picturing what Sakurai and Matsu might have been doing here last night. Did Matsu push him down and kiss him, like Nino wanted him to do or was it Sakurai who took the lead, since he was older.

Did they do it here on the sofa? Matsu’s room was a mess, so it was possible. His heart knotted and twisted in his chest.

“Nino-kun?” Ohno muttered and Nino blinked coming back to his senses

“Sorry, Oh-chan, what were you saying?” He asked

“After school you’re going to work for your parents?”

“I guess so” Nino shrugged, there was no guessing about it he and Matsu were predestined to take over MN, not that he minded he loved the software they made. “Oh-chan I’m sorry about this” Nino said as he heard Matsu’s key click in the lock, he quickly sat on the older guys lap and quickly pulled him into a kiss giving Ohno no time to react.

He didn’t want to kiss Ohno, and he would have to apologise to Aiba later, but he just wanted to prove to himself and Matsu that he wasn’t in love with him.

When he heard something fall to the floor,  he moved away leaving a stunned, confused Ohno to lick his lips he turned to look at Matsu who was staring at them grey faced and open mouthed. “Jun, you’re early…”

“Y-yeah… Sh-o… Sho forgot… His books…” Matsu said failing to keep his voice level and Nino knew he had gone too far. Matsu picked his bag up and went to his bedroom “I just came back to fetch, my copies”

“Jun…” Nino whispered realising that Aiba had been right all along. Matsu’s reaction just then had been the same as Nino’s had been last night.

“I think I’ll stay at Sakurai’s tonight” Matsu told him as he came back out of his bedroom and headed to the door. “I’m sorry for interrupting”

Nino heard the door shut and wondered if he should follow him, but he was completely bewildered. Matsu was dating Sakurai so why was he acting like that?

“Is that the reaction you wanted?” Ohno asked rubbing his mouth with the back of his hand and then biting his lips

“Not really no” Nino answered with a sad smile, “I think pushed him to far”

“Maybe” Ohno agreed with a nod “I think I heard him snap”

“Crap… What should I do?”
