Previous Part:

Jun rested into the car almost amazed at how smooth the ride was and there was no danger that the engine would suddenly explode. He absentmindedly touched the spot where the locket normally rested. Aiba was right, it wouldn’t have felt right to have Aiba in his mind while he was here for Nino’s birthday but it still felt empty without him in his mind. The gate wasn’t locked when they arrived at the house and the driver drove them straight to the door where he grinned surprised to see Nino hopping from one foot to the other dressed in a similar style suit the one he had been wearing at the salon and he looked completely hot, the hair style he had produced actually looked more amazing than he remembered and the smile Nino was giving him was amazing.

Jun got out of the car and was about to go straight to him when he noticed the ring of reporters, including one he recognised. Sakurai caught his eye and gave him a wide chipmunk type smile and the hair dresser smiled in return surprised when there was flashing of cameras

“Jun” Nino called him over and Jun turned back to face him surprised at how close he had gotten

“Hey, happy birthday…” Jun mumbled shyly and there was another flashing of cameras and this time a rush of questions from the reporters,

“Ninomiya-sama…Who is this?”

“My hairdresser…And my friend Matsumoto Jun” Nino answered smoothly his hand running through his hair, “He created this style for me, isn’t it cute?”

“Yes, there have been a lot of questions as to where you got your new style” One of the reporters gasped as there was another round of cameras flashing.

“Well now you know” Nino beamed and gave a small salute leading him to the house. As soon as they stepped inside, Nino slammed the door shut and gave a huge sigh “Sorry about that, the party hasn’t even started yet, I wanted you to get here before they arrived but they seemed to have started camping there since this morning…”

“It’s okay… Why didn’t you tell me it was your birthday?”

“Hmm… Because I didn’t want you to feel obligated to get me a present…”

“You mean ‘Because you’re so poor it wouldn’t feel right’?” Jun translated and Nino gave a laugh shaking his head

“No, it was more please don’t waste money on me save it to buy a new car because if I lose sleep one more night for any reason other than video games I’m going to kill you myself” He said and Jun blinked in amazement.

“It really worries you that much?” He asked in disbelief and Nino gave him an amazing smile

“Of course I’m worried we’re friends aren’t we?”

“Just friends?” Jun asked without even thinking about it remembering what Aiba had said about the ‘just friends’ comment. Nino gave him a surprised look, but Jun thought he could detect a pleased expression in the older man’s eyes.

“For now…” Nino murmured, Jun took a step closer to him about to reach out and take his hand when then the doorbell rang reminding them both that a party was just about to start. “Let’s do this, ne?”

Jun gave a nod though he wasn’t sure why since this party had nothing really to do with him. Nino opened the door and suddenly there was an influx of people that Jun had only ever seen on the front of the glossy magazines in his waiting room. They all greeted Nino and the millionaire introduced them to Jun as his friend and they greeted him too, with more politeness than the hairdresser felt he deserved. As the last guest entered and the door shut on the reporters Jun was positive he heard Nino mumble ‘Thanks for leaving me with this crap, Samii’.

Jun watched Nino work around the room laughing lightly with actors, actresses and other business men, it was strange less like a birthday party more like a networking event. Every now and then someone would talk to him and ask how he knew Nino. He told them the same story Nino had told the reporters that he was a friend and his hairdresser for some reason people kept giving him business cards and looked at him expectantly he was at a loss at what to do until the driver that had fetched him here came up to him.

“Sorry, Matsumoto-sama, but you left this in the car” he said holding out a silver card holder, inside were cards with his salon’s name printed on it. He looked up at Nino who gave him a smirk sipping some champagne and turning back to an elderly man he was talking too. It seemed that even if he wasn’t going to give him a loan he was still going to silently promote his business. Jun handed out the cards and saddled over to were Nino was standing beside the buffet table

“Aren’t you going to eat?” Jun asked him slowly and Nino shook his head looking at the expensive food that was laid out.

“Nope… I’d rather have had a hamburger in the world’s most unreliable car… At least then the company would be a lot more interesting…” He grinned “So your friend the reporter, wouldn’t he be happier inside? It’s going to rain and as much as the press bugs me if he’s your friend…”

“How do you know?”

“Unless you flirt with cameras there was a reason you went over to them” Nino smiled “So you want to go let him in?”

“Seriously? You wouldn’t mind?”

“I wouldn’t have said it if I did…” Nino shrugged with a grin “But I suggest that you move towards the door quickly before that actress who keeps trying to catch your eye plucks up the courage to actually come over…”

“Don’t leave me”

“I don’t intend to… I saw you first” Nino whispered back nudging him towards the door, keeping his fixed polite expression on his face. Jun felt his heart give a few skips at ‘I saw you first’ and very quickly went outside going to his friend and ignoring the other reporters.

“Nino said wouldn’t you be happier inside? It’s going to rain apparently” Jun said in his friend’s ear after grabbing his friends arm.

“What? Seriously?”

“He wouldn’t have said it if he didn’t mean it” Jun smiled mimicking Nino’s words and pulling him inside to were Nino was sat on a step rubbing his temples. He looked up grinning as he saw them

“Hi I’m Ninomiya Kazunari, It’s nice to meet you”

“You too…” Sakurai said with polite stiffness that made Jun almost laugh

“I get to meet Jun’s friend, I was starting to feel like his dirty little secret, though I guess 31 makes me a sugar daddy ne?” Nino teased brightly and Jun rolled his eyes, while Sakurai was looking like he was about to explode with the ‘exclusive’ he was being offered.

“He’s joking” The hairdresser said smoothly, and Sakurai blinked

“Yep, it’s hard to be a sugar daddy when he won’t even let me buy him a car” Nino sighed dramatically “And when he gave me a free hair cut…”

“Stop being a brat”

“It’s my birthday, I’ll be a brat if I want” Nino grinned, his eyes flashing happily, “Anyway enjoy yourself, but remember that this is a party and you’re a guest”

“So in other words, don’t print anything that goes on?”

“No, but I’m assuming you’ve only just started and you should be careful about what you print… Any one of the people in the black suits could make or break your career and as you’re Jun’s friend I’d rather it not be the latter…” Nino said carefully and Jun wondered if he was being helpful or not

“So what is Jun to you?”

“Hmm… Someone that I hope will be more than a ‘friend’ you can print that if you want…”
