Satoshi shifted around in his chair looking at the door just as it opened and Kazu walked in. He started to smile before he even realised that he was doing it and he stood up his arms opening and Kazu automatically filled them. His thin body pressing up against him,

“Hey baby” Kazu said kissing his nose, cheeks and then lips, Satoshi purred with pure happiness that his life mate was in his arms rubbing their cheeks and noses together and Kazu giggled “We only saw each other a few hours ago, Sato-chan”

“I still missed you” Satoshi said with a shrug, it must have been the correct response because Kazu rewarded him with his loudest purr ever, their cheeks bumping together furiously until they received a polite cough from the waiter and they sat down at the table Kazu wrapping his arms around him.

“So you’re together again?” Kazu asked looking at Jun who was calmly drinking his second coffee typing at his computer again “I would get jealous but… Well I’m me…” His life mate purred his arms tightening around Satoshi as he said it. Cheating rarely happened on the planet Feliex, the fated bonded mates was sacred, to choose someone other than your bonded partner meant you were questioning the wisdom of the fates, nothing good came from questioning the fates. “So how do you even know each other anyway?”

“Sakurai is my boss” Jun answered with a shrug, and Satoshi knew that he came up with an excuse faster than he ever could.

“And you… met…” Kazu mumbled looking at them sceptically and Satoshi didn’t blame him, somebody cool and good looking like Jun wouldn’t normally hang around with somebody boring and plain like him. His feelings must have shown in his face because Kazu coughed beaming again as he quickly came up with his own answer “You wanted to steal my Sato-chan’s paintings for one of your lame game adverts?”

“… Something like that…” Jun nodded slowly and Satoshi was trying to find a way to stop Kazu from continuing, even though he knew Kazu was just trying to make him feel better.

“Then you should help him Sato-chan, some of their adverts are really lame, Masa likes them though… But then again he’s an idiot… Only an idiot would think an advert is cool” Kazu said and Satoshi couldn’t help but notice Jun’s jaw twitching

“My life mate like my pictures” Jun said coldly his computer clicking shut and his tail flicking furiously more than a few times, as he gracefully rose to his feet, “Excuse me I should get back to the office, Satoshi, I’ll phone you about the meeting as soon as possible”

“Yes, of course thank-you” Satoshi said getting to his feet as soon as he was gone he rounded on Kazu, who was playing with the menu a little “You shouldn’t have said all that…”

“If you hadn’t looked so depressed I wouldn’t have, but you looked like you were about to cry Sato-chan… I already know you have a complex about the way you look… Your mum told me…” His life mate said stopping playing with the menu to look down at his hands.

“You shouldn’t put other people down to make me feel better” Satoshi mumbled and Kazu gave a sigh

“Fine, I’ll apologise to him next time I see him, but I still think you should work with him, I knew I’d heard Jun Matsumoto before, I’ve heard that he’s actually pretty talented” he said, the expression on his face stating clearly that he would never admit that to Jun “Speaking of talent… I heard you telling your dad that you’ve been working on something new and you have paint on your beautiful ear hair… Can I see them? Your new paintings… ”

“Kazu… It’s not really… Finished yet” Satoshi squeaked thinking about the portrait of Kazu that was still uncovered in his studio, Kazu pursed his lips batting his eye lashes, as his tail rubbed up against Satoshi’s

“Pretty please, Sato” He said in a slightly pleading voice and the artist felt his weak resistance slip away.

“Okay…” He mumbled and Kazu’s face split into a grin so wide he showed of his gums. It was so quiet in the car on the ride back to his apartment that Satoshi was convinced that Kazu would be able to hear the sound of his heart slamming against his ribs. No matter how hard he tried to calm it down it wouldn’t stop echoing round in his chest. His driver smiled at him through the mirror and Satoshi had to wonder sometimes why his parents had insisted staff had to be treated as members of the family, it felt like he was being teased by his older brother. Eventually they pulled up outside his apartment block and Kazu almost dragged him inside

“I want to see your apartment, Sato… Since I’ll be living with you soon…”

“Eh? But you won’t be living in this apartment…” Satoshi said quickly as they reached his apartment door. He fumbled around with his keys and Kazu stared at him looking justifiably puzzled

“Why not?” He asked softly his voice losing some of its earlier cockiness.

“Um… The apartment upstairs is nicer…” Satoshi mumbled helplessly pointing upwards like a child the key waving in the air as he tried to make his point without using ‘so we can add a door for Jun and Nino’ “It’s bigger and more airy and you can have space for a music room or something…”

“So… If that apartment is so much better than this one why aren’t you living in it?” Kazu asked his head tilting to one side his white ear twitching as he waited for an answer

“Because… It’s a couple’s apartment… I didn’t want to take a place that other people could use…” Satoshi answered truthfully

“You are so cute, Sato” Kazu said and gave him a loving smile bringing their mouths together. Satoshi sighed as Kazu’s rough tongue slipped into his mouth without much and slowly his beautiful life mate showed him how to kiss properly. Kazu reached up and stroked at his ear toying with the edge with his thumb while pushing down the handle and walking him inside kicking the door closed. Satoshi gasped as Kazu pulled away, Kazu gave him a seductive smile his tail rubbing over his leg and Satoshi couldn’t deny that he wanted this, he wanted this so much it was almost a physical ache in his chest. He knew he couldn’t act on it though not without talking it through with Jun and maybe Nino. He moved away from Kazu feeling bed when there was a flash of pain and disappointment in his life mate’s eyes

“I’m sorry… Kazu… I’m too nervous” He whispered half truthfully and Kazu nodded, his ears flopping to his head as he held his tail in an apologetic stance,

“Sorry, Sato-chan… I shouldn’t rush you… I’ve never done it before either…You’re right we have our whole lives to get it right so we don’t have to rush…” He said in a shaky voice and Satoshi wanted to hug him again but knew that if they started again he would be able to stop so he stroked Kazu’s white ear “Um… So show me your studio…”

“It’s this way” Satoshi said guiding him to his small but light filled studio and Kazu gaze automatically settled onto his portrait

“You painted me from memory?”

“The day after we met” Satoshi said with a nod and Kazu stared at the painting his mouth open. “I’m sorry that I didn’t get you completely right Kazu…”

“Yeah you made me look even more perfect” His life mate mumbled with another smile. “I think we should get out of here and head to Masaki’s…”

“Why?”

“Because if we don’t I won’t let you get away next time” Kazu mumbled and Satoshi blushed and quickly he sent a message to Jun to tell him to meet them there, Hoping that they could get something sorted out with Masaki as soon as possible.
