Raiden was smaller than either of them had imagined, he was about the same size as a doll, with a surprising amount of black hair on his head, when the lord had said he had been born recently they had thought that maybe a week but the tiny baby in Matsu’s arms looked just a few days old if that. He already had two tiny teeth though and as soon as he entered the apartment he gave a healthy cry alerting them to the fact that he was hungry to be fed, the elder looked at Nino who gave him a raised eyebrow glare saying plainly “You wanted it” before going to switch on his game, trying his best to drown out the whimpering cries of the baby. Matsu stood watching his husband before rolling his eyes, before unfastening his shirt and cutting his skin near his collar bone and putting Raiden too it. The babies cry’s stopped as he caught the scent of blood and making snuffling sounds he latched on sucking greedily. Nino’s eyes narrowed as he watched the tiny baby nuzzling against Matsu’s shoulder sinking its almost none existent teeth in to his shoulder, Matsu saw him and motioned for him to come closer but instead Nino threw the controller down and stood up walking on shaky legs he mumbled something about going to the arcade. he grabbed his coat and left slamming the door as loudly as he dare, trying to push away the image of Matsu and the baby out of his mind, he headed to his favourite arcade letting the over whelm scent of human blood wash over him, trying to control his eyes from changing, at the moment the baby still smelt of someone else and seeing it… Him drinking from Matsu was enough to almost drive him crazy. He looked around at the humans playing the games, tempted to sink his teeth into the closest one to him but pulled himself away from those thoughts, for the last two years he and Matsu had drank mostly from blood pack and only from humans at the same time, on special occasions. He was about to give a loud groan when someone put their hands over his eyes

“Masaki, you shouldn’t so that to Matsumoto-sama” A voice, that sounded like Sakurai said

“Sho-chan! You ruined it!” Aiba whined as he let Nino go, Nino smiled happily as he turned to see his friend and both his lovers “Sato… Tell him he ruined it!”

“Sakurai-kun” Ohno murmured softly at Aiba request though there was no real feeling in it Sakurai continued to smile and Nino had to marvel at their willingness to start their weird family for Aiba. “Matsumoto-sama… Is everything okay? You seem… Strange” Ohno asked and Nino had to sigh, thinking that he should have known the doctor would be able to tell “If you need to talk, sir,”

“Please, none of you three have to call me ‘sir’ or ‘sama’”

“We can’t help it, you’re our elders life mate…” Sakurai shrugged saying nothing he hadn’t heard from them before “We all under the Matsumoto family and you’re joint head of our family…”

“But, I’m just ‘Nino’” he grumbled knowing it was pointless but wanting to try anyway

“So Just-Nino-Sama, where’s your husband?”

“At home with the baby” Nino mumbled completely forgetting he hadn’t told his friends about the happy addition to his family, though as Sakurai worked in the same building he suspected that he might have known, but judging by the way his eyes bulged as much as Aiba it seemed he didn’t. The only one who seemed unaffected by the news was Ohno who just gave a sleepy smile obviously knowing some of the details, perhaps even knowing whose child Raiden was.

“EH?! Baby?!” Aiba screamed in his ear “You’ve got a baby?!” Nino groaned aware that they were drawing the attention of nearly all the mortals in the arcade and he grabbed Aiba by the front of his shirt and dragged him out followed quickly by Sakurai and Ohno. “What do you mean baby? You’ve had a baby?”

“How is that possible, idiot?” Nino snapped smacking him on the head gripping the shirt tighter and tighter, Ohno gave a polite cough stepping forwards he put a soothing hand on Nino’s shoulder and Nino relaxed enough to lesson his grip on Aiba. Nino looked at Sakurai and Ohno who were both tense, unsure to protect their lover or their beta. Nino felt guilty for putting them in that position, and let out a sigh

“The lord asked if we would take care of a baby…” Nino mumbled refusing to admit to anyone that he had asked the lord for the baby. “We had no choice but to agree…” he sighed and then spent the next hour going over everything in small detail, as both Aiba and Sakurai made him repeat things, he was glad when he could finally leave and go home. His heart did a strange funny turn when he went into the living room and saw Matsu laying on the sofa asleep with the baby Raiden on his chest. The babies smell was more like his husbands now he had fed on him and Nino felt his body relax, before he realised that they didn’t have anything for the baby to sleep in. They had been given the baby so quickly that they hadn’t had time to get anything in, they been given a few nappies and some clothes but that was it. Raiden gave a snuffling noise and Matsu automatically went to stroke his back lightly soothing him without even waking up. Nino tried to swallow his smile at the sight and turned quickly to find something suitable to put a tiny baby in, in the end he settled on the largest drawer from Matsu’s chest, tipping the clothes onto the floor before lining it with a pillow and as many sheets as possible to make it soft and warm “It’s only for one night” He grumbled to himself before going to wake up his husband. “Jun” He whispered against his ear, gently biting at the shell, the elders eyes flew open nearly going into defensive mode over the baby before realising that it was his husband,

“Kazu? You’re back” he said and Nino smiled

“Come on” He said tugging him into the bedroom, Matsu looked surprised at the makeshift cot but he gave a smile and put Raiden gently into it covering him with the blankets. Raiden gave a few whimpers but settled down easily. “It’s just for now you can get the proper stuff tomorrow” Nino said almost shyly, since Nino had remembered his human life, he had slowly started to act like he had when he had first known him and Matsu loved it. Two years ago he had told Nino that he had loved him both as the bratty vampire and the shy human, and that was true but now those two personalities had merged and Matsu loved him even more, they went to bed holding each other tightly

“Thank-you… Thank-you for giving me a baby…” Matsu murmured in his ear about to bite down when Raiden started crying, Nino let out a groan and pulled a cover over his head

“I’m already regretting it” He said. The next day Matsu left early, hoping to be able to get to all the shops before the sun was too high in the sky, he left Raiden with Nino as he was too young to have built a defence against the sun. Nino was sat in his gaming chair every now and the eyeing the baby, who’s eyes were a translucent purple like Matsu’s, Raiden gave a whimper and then started wailing loudly “He’s not here” Nino mumbled looking at the screaming baby, with a scowl wondering what the hell was taking his husband so long, the wails became too much and very reluctantly he reached out and picked Raiden up, he bit into his wrist and drew some blood Raiden stopped crying sniffing the air with his tiny nose, Nino pressed his wrist to the baby’s mouth, startled when he immediately started sucking, his little tongue lapping as greedy sucking sounds filled the air. Nino stared down at Raiden’s face, gasping when he saw the little ones eyes looking at him unfiltered, they were light purple with a ring of yellow that was just forming but growing stronger the more he drank. The little hand reached out with surprising coordination and gripped at his hand. Nino gave a small laugh, “You’re a clever little guy, ne… Are you going to grow up to be like your papa Jun?” He said “If you do you’ll be like one of the few decent true vampires…” Raiden let go of his wrist with an audible ‘pop’ and Nino wiped his mouth lightly, before patting his back like he had seen human mothers do. Raiden gave a light burp and Nino laughed holding him up to the light staring at those mixed eyes, he didn’t know much about new born true vampires but there was something about Raiden that was strange, “But you’re a cute strange…” He said holding him again and rocking him gently until he fell to sleep. Quickly putting him down as he smelt his husband coming.
