Nino’s morning sickness continued for the next few days, and even the pads Aiba had given them seemed to have stopped working. It was also becoming almost obvious that there was some swelling in his stomach.

“I’m sorry master” Nino groaned as Matsu wiped his forehead with a damp cloth.

“It’s okay, Nino… Aiba will be here soon…” The captain said in a soothing voice running his hand over the Feman’s stomach with his free hand. Still unable to believe that in just a few days he would be able to see the outline of their babies. There really was still a lot to worry about but Aiba had been coming every day and so far everything was completely okay, with the exception of the really bad morning sickness “The baby’s…They’re growing quickly…”

“Master… Is happy?” Nino asked in another soft groan, his ears halfway to being flat against his head, his face had a soft sheen of sweat. Normally Matsu would find someone in Nino’s present state disgusting but right now, as strange as seemed, Nino looked completely adorable.

“I’m happy…” Matsu told him smiling and pressing his lips to the Feman’s forehead to try and calm Nino and himself down though he was glad when his door beeped once before opening and Aiba came quickly into the room. Nino tried to sit up but the movement caused him to heave again and Matsu brought the bowl in front of his face just in time while stroking his back.

“S-s-orry…” Nino moaned his head still in the bowl.

“Wow… This is a really bad case of morning sickness today, ne?” Aiba said coming to the bed and putting his bag down as Nino stopped throwing up. He put the bag down on the bed as Jun went to the bathroom. “Its okay, Nino I’m going to do a scan and see what’s going on”

“Yes” Nino agreed quickly and Matsu realised that Feman had more trust in the doctor than before. Matsu fetched some water and gave it to the Feman. Nino’s rough pink tongue darted out of his mouth as he lapped thirstily at it and Matsu’s smiled coming to sit on the bed and stroking his ears.

“Good boy…” Aiba grinned taking his scanner from the bag, and pouring some of the gel on the Feman’s stomach, Matsu had noticed before but the stuff Aiba was using on Nino was basic at best, he guessed it was because the doctor was worried of the effects it would have on the Feman’s body. But again he was impressed in Aiba’s confidence and skill in using it. “Okay… We’re over the stomach/womby thing…”

“Womby thing?” Matsu repeated his confidence fading in a heartbeat.

“Well I don’t know what to call it… I still haven’t been able to do a full scan, if I could just get into a hospital…” Aiba sighed looking at his screen as he pressed it to his stomach. Matsu glanced at Nino and realised that at some point the Feman had fallen to sleep, the still half full glass of water in his hands tilting rather dangerously over Matsu’s groin.

With a soft laugh Matsu took it and placed in on the counter that also served as a bed stand. With Ohno’s tentative agreement and Matsu’s funding the Arashi was being kitted out with everything it needed to service the pregnant Feman but he should have known that Aiba would still want to run more tests.

“You still need to do that?”

“I still think it would be best” Aiba nodded chewing his lip while looking at the scan. “The more information I have the better chance I’ll have to help him through this…”

“I’ll see what I can do but…” Matsu murmured his fingers still moving over the Feman’s ears, Nino was letting out cute purring snores the vibrated through his side tickling him lightly. Aiba nodded chewing his lip nervously, and Matsu released he was thinking something “What is it?”

“Well I… I was just thinking that maybe we might have to ask Admiral Ohno to somehow get into a hospital” Aiba murmured “I thought that if everything was going smoothly we wouldn’t have to be I need to know more…Like ‘Is his sickness going to get worse?’ or ‘Better?’ the growth rate of the babies, will it affect them because they have two different genetic make-ups…”

“Wow you really have thought about this, ne?” Matsu mused and Aiba nodded looking more serious than the captain had ever seen him

“It’s my job to think about it… Plus, I haven’t heard from Sho-chan since we landed, what if his parents have found out about his plan and he’s locked away, or maybe I was just a fling and he’s forgotten all about me” Aiba whined and the captain had no idea what to do when the overly emotional doctor started crying.

“Sho-man he loves Aiba-doc-te-r” Nino said sleepily opening one eye and looking at them “When that man called Nino a thing… Sho-man, he found Nino… He told Nino that he didn’t want to come on the flying boat either because he didn’t like high places… But he was glad that he did because he got meet Aiba-doctor…”

“Really?” Aiba asked wiping his eyes and Nino nodded with a smile. Aiba gave a watery one of his own and very lightly Nino licked at his nose and the lips, causing the doctor to blink and Matsu to quickly grabbing his lover’s stomach and pulling him to him.

“Did Nino do something wrong?” Nino asked softly looking up at him.

“No… Not wrong … But…” Matsu said as Aiba gave a laugh packing his stuff and walking away, while the captain tried to think of a way to explain to the Feman “You know when you said you loved me?”

“Yes, Nino loves master a lot…” Nino nodded with a smile

“Well… Human’s like me and Aiba… When they say ‘I love you’ it means that they don’t normally kiss other people…” Nino’s head cocked to one side and Matsu knew he hadn’t understood “Um… You…”

“Nino, would you like it if Matsu did that to me or cuddled me?” Aiba asked trying to help out. Nino stayed silent his head cocking from one side to the other as he tried to think it over.

“N-no… Nino doesn’t think he would like it… It would hurt Nino’s chest…” He said hold the place his heart was. “Did Nino hurt master’s chest?”

“A little bit” Matsu admitted kissing his nose.

“Nino is sorry, Master, Nino won’t do it again… Aiba-doctor looked sad so Nino thought he would help… Like Master helps Nino…”

“I feel better” Aiba promised with a grin “So… About Admiral Ohno”

“I’ll ask him but he’s already done so much for us I feel kind of bad” Matsu sighed as Nino settled back against him and fell back to sleep almost straight away. Matsu phoned the admiral feeling almost like a naughty school boy and he was surprised when just as Nino was waking up and hour later the admiral came in beaming happily.

“I’ve managed to book out the lab in the cider university hospital without anyone asking too many questions… I hope they’ll be useful” The admiral told them and Aiba gave a loud excited shout and hugged him tightly.

“Thank-you, sir, they’ll be perfect… The equipment they have in there will greatly improve our chances of finding a way to help…” he said and Matsu couldn’t understand why the admiral was so quick to help them

“You look troubled, captain Matsumoto” Ohno said as Aiba let him go.

“Sorry, sir, I don’t mean to question and I won’t refuse your help but I want to know why… Why is an admiral so willing to help?”

“Because I want to help… Plus I’m… To be honest I’m bored” Ohno said with a sigh, “I never wanted to be an admiral, I was happy being a private… And I was hoping that if I helped you, you’d help me… I want to join the crew of the Arashi…”
