Jun wanted to scream, every part of his body hurt, even the parts of his body he didn’t know could hurt was hurting. He wanted to scream so badly but no matter how hard tried, he knew no sound was coming out. A small part of him could hear Nino beside him and he wanted to beg him to stop it hurting, his whole body was jerking and although he tried to stop it, it was impossible. Then he felt Nino, he was all around him and inside him, what was it? Was this his pheromones? But it was never like this before, this was way more intense he could almost taste him, he felt his body relax, it was okay Nino was there, Nino would always be there. He allowed himself to sink into that warm wonderful feeling, his mind repeating ‘Nino, Nino’. Something changed Nino became fearful and it seemed like he was in pain, was someone was hurting Nino? No that was impossible Nino was invincible, nobody could hurt his Nino, something else would be bothering him. Another scent came to him, an unfamiliar one, was this, the reason that Nino was scared?

“J, J…” Nino said and Jun was positive that he was crying, Nino was scared because of him? “Please don’t die…” as the words hit him Jun realised that Nino was scared because he thought that he was going to die. When he had first made him his pet Nino had promised that he would kill him but over the years that had changed and now he wanted to stay with Nino forever he wouldn’t lose to this he refused too. Nino was his and they would always be together. He fought against the calm that had settled around him that calm was the enemy, the pain returned but he kept focused on Nino.

“He’s going to be okay” He heard the unknown vampire say, though it still sounded unsure. He opened his mouth again and this time a low moaning sound echoed around the room

“J-J!” Nino gasped in a rush, and Jun could feel him clutching at his hand, and to his amazement it felt warm, like he was touching another human. He wouldn’t have thought that it would have been Nino but the fingers felt right against his. “J-J, can you hear me? Come on baby, if anyone can get through this you can…”

“Urgh…” Jun groaned which was meant to be ‘I know… I’m here…’ even if it didn’t come out that way Nino seemed to understand because he could feel lips being pressed against his.

“Come on baby… Come on…” Nino repeated over and over and Jun forced his eyes open, and light flooded in almost blinding him. He let out a long hard hiss that spread out and filled the room which sounded as if he was screaming. “Jun… Jun it’s okay,” Nino whispered soothingly and he felt a hand running over his face. He blinked a few times trying to get his eyes to adjust. “Just take your time…” his lover mumbled and Jun looked towards his voice. Nino was smiling but he could see that he was crying thick and unsteady tears that were staining his cheeks.

“Urngh…” Jun mumbled trying to reach out to touch the vampires face. Nino understood again and quickly wiped his cheeks

“I’m just happy” He told him softly and Jun sighed wishing he could speak but for some reason nothing would come out. “Jun baby, to speak you have to breathe…”

Jun blinked of course that made sense to him, speaking was air rushing over vocal cords, but he had never had to ‘think’ about breathing before, it had happened just naturally. He sucked in a deep lungful of air and getting a taste of something that smelt incredible, like warm honey and fresh milk. It tasted amazing and he ran his tongue over his lips wanting to saviour the taste. His eyes darted around trying to understand where it was coming from, his eyes focused on Nino who was still clutching his hand tightly.

“F-o-od…” He choked out and Nino’s eyes widened but he smiled nodding coming closer to him. Jun breathed in again and he knew that this was where the taste was coming from, Nino’s skin was tantalisingly white, more so than he had ever imagined before and with a breathless growl he moved forwards. His movements were like every joint had been oiled, everything was so smooth and quick and if Jun was really focused he would have been impressed with himself, but all that matter though was making sure he had enough of that wonderful taste in his mouth. He bit at Nino’s neck, surprised when Nino gave a startled yelp. Hot blood filled Jun’s mouth and he released a happy groan in his throat, he sucked and teased at the skin and Nino put his arms up to circle him running his hands up and down his spine. As Jun drank he could hear Nino telling him it was going to be okay, behind his lover though he could see the maker and the human Aiba exchanging looks and he felt that something had gone wrong.

Nino sighed clutching his neck as Jun sank back to the floor falling to sleep like a baby that had just finished its fill with a bottle. He smoothed out the silky hair smiling as Jun let out a soft mumble under his breath. It had taken 24 hours for Jun to be changed into a vampire. The others that had agreed had been done in half that time. Jun had been the only one that had had complications. Sakurai believed that it might be because he had drank Nino’s blood for so long as a human, that his body had built up a rapid healing gene and that had fought against the change. Nino wasn’t sure what it was and in his heart of hearts he didn’t care either as long as Jun was alive nothing else mattered.

He stumbled his way down the stairs, past the freshly made vampires that were coming to their senses in the various rooms and he sank into a half broken chair and closed his eyes letting out a sigh. Jun had taken a lot of blood and he needed just a few minutes to recover he thought. With his eyes still closed he touched his neck with his fingertips sighing as he realised that it had already healed.

“Papa… Is human papa going to be okay?” Mayo asked coming to stand beside his lap and Nino opened his eyes to smile at her. Weakly he lifted her on to his knee and he nodded slowly

“Yes, human-papa… Papa Jun, he just needs some rest” He said hoping that that was true. Just now, his Jun had seemed more like a ‘zombie’ than a vampire and he was worried, very worried. He felt a pair of eyes on him and he looked up into the concerned eyes of Sakurai. “Mayo-chan, you should go play with the others while I talk to Uncle Sakurai okay?”

Mayo gave a reluctant nod of her head and very lightly she kissed his cheek before running off into the room the children had adopted as their playroom. Sakurai came over and gave him a quick check up before motioning Aiba over. Aiba and Ohno hadn’t been changed yet and Nino had a feeling that he knew what was going to happen.

“You should drink” The maker said and Aiba pulled down the top of his t-shirt to expose his neck Nino licked his lips as he saw the biggest vein that was carrying blood throughout the human’s body a growl escaped his lips as he reached up to stroke the vein, he could feel the blood his tongue darted over his lips again and then he pushed Aiba away.

“I’m fine…” he said as Sakurai wrapped his arms around Aiba pressing their cheeks together

“Ninomiya, you have to drink…” he murmured

“No you have to tell me what’s wrong with my Jun” Nino said and he glared at the pair Sakurai opened his mouth but as he was about to speak they heard the floorboards in Jun’s room creak and crack a few seconds later the stairs moved and looking up Nino saw Jun coming towards him. The relic was still nestled against Jun’s skin and Nino could see that he had started to blister and bruise. Nino hated himself for forgetting that his lover was wearing it

“Jun” He said softly his hackles rising as his lover snapped at him his teeth gnashing together and his eyes flashing. “Jun, you should take that off…”

The freshly made vampire looked at where he was pointing, almost dumbly and he hissed as he touched the relic. Nino smiled coming to stand in front of him with movements so quick even the blink of an eye would be unable to compete.

“Hurts” Jun managed and Nino nodded reaching up to play with the catch

“I’ll make it stop hurting baby” He promised taking off the relic. Jun gave a growl and to his horror Nino realised that Mayo had re-entered the room. “Jun… No…” He said quickly, panic in his voice but Jun ignored him his eyes going blood red.
